Puppetry of Objects and Ideas

Ten-year-old Belinda is a budding poet and loves to tell stories, but when she’s stuck in the basement preparing for a party upstairs that her stepfamily will host, she’ll have to get creative. It’s a story within a story; Belinda lives out her version while also re-enacting the classic tale of Cinderella, using whatever objects are at her disposal: napkins, teapots, and doilies. When she learns that the party's special guest is (real life) writer Gary Soto, Belinda wants desperately to attend the party and share her own writings with Soto. But to do that, she must learn to stand up for herself and take charge of her life and dreams. This captivating bilingual one-woman performance is a modern spin on the beloved fairy tale and tackles cultural heritage, family, and the power of language. NATIONAL TOUR 2022- 2024.

Polly Mermaid was born to be the princess of the North Pacific Ocean, but the people of her realm are disappearing because of ocean pollution. With the help of her friend, Basurana, Polly is traveling to schools to discover how human habits affect natural habitats. Students will practice the scientific method to brainstorm solutions for the broken system that turns treasures into trash. NOW BOOKING for Fall 2023- Spring 2024.

This original performance for all ages from Glass Half Full Theatre features wrestlers who represent solutions for Climate Crisis: Alternative Energy, Carbon Capture, El Resourcerer, and Zorro Waste. These luchadores each have their own plan to save Planet Earth, but they don’t agree which will work best. Collective action? Individual choices? The latest technologies? Or ancestral knowledge? They’ll need to overlook their differences and work together to defeat the ultimate combatant, Max Extinction. Blending the Mexican form of Lucha Libre with digital media and puppets, two actors perform six characters en español e ingles to wrestle their way to a global solution for Climate Change.
